SNIP (Spay/Neuter Incentive Plan)

Basket of Kittens

This program offers low-cost spay and neuter programs for cats and dogs. This program is subsidized by Animal Resource Foundation and uses specific veterinary clinics for the surgeries. Individuals can receive discounted spay and neuter services based upon their financial situation and work status. As each situation is unique, we ask that any pricing you receive is not shared with anyone else seeking services as their pricing may be different. You may pass on our contact information to anyone interested in our program.

Anyone interested in the program must download and complete an application form and return it to ARF Iowa (mail/email instructions at the top of the form). If your application is approved, you will be notified as to your share of the cost and authorization will be sent to the veterinary clinic. We ask that you wait 24 hours before you contact the clinic to make an appointment. You must pay your share of the bill when you go in for the appointment. The clinic staff will give directions as when to pick up your pet and any aftercare instructions.

Rabies shots will be given at the time of surgery (if age appropriate) unless a certificate of vaccination can be provided proving vaccinations are current. Any animal showing signs of flea infestation will be treated prior to the surgery and the pet owner will be charged. This service will also be subsidized.

Additional services such as worming, vaccinations, heartworm testing, Feline Leukemia testing and flea treatments can also be subsidized if done at the time of the surgery.

Animal Resource Foundation will NOT subsidize any procedure or service to anyone also asking for non-essential or elective procedures/surgeries that do not enhance the life of the animal. This would include declawing, de-barking, docking tails, cropping ears; among others. These are procedures that are unnecessary and are done for the convenience of the pet owner and do not benefit the pet.

Animal Resource Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
