4th ANNUAL CANDY SUNDAE FUNDRAISER
February 2012
For a $20 donation, you get your choice of a beautiful candy sundae. The sundaes are made of chocolate and come in several different colors. Money raised from this event will be used to help spay and neuter low-income pets. You can find the sundaes at Farmers State Bank in Marion at 1240 8th Avenue. Cedar Run is hosting an adoption and fundraising event at their facility during their Grand Opening. At least six animal welfare organizations will be represented and many will have adoptable animals for you to meet. We will be there to share information about our organization and raise money to help fund our programs. We will have a variety of items available including our t-shirts, large dog tugs, fleece blankets, catnip toys, bumper stickers and much, much more.
During the event, Cedar Run will be offering special pricing on their boarding packages. They will also have free pizza and popcorn. You can also take a chance at winning one of the wonderful door prizes. These prizes include free training classes, free grooming for one year and free boarding for three days.

Animal Resource Foundation, Animal Welfare Foundation, SAINT Rescue and Iowa Humane Alliance will all be represented at this wonderful holiday event. Every group will have a huge assortment of gift ideas for your holiday shopping for both your furry and not-so-furry family members and friends. Some of our items include large dog tugs, fleece blankets, catnip toys, t-shirts, magnets, bumper stickers and much, much more. As there are four groups participating, there will be lots of items to choose from.
In addition to gift ideas, we will also present a HUGE Cookie Walk featuring the delicious and delectable desserts of dozens of our talented bakers. This should be a great event! Since we have four groups participating, you can bet the selection of goodies will be enormous!
Shoppers will be able to pick and choose the cookies they like to create their own customized gift based on their budget and preferences. We give you the gloves and you pick all the cookies you want to pretend you made! All cookies will be sold by the pound ($5 per lb.) so you can mix and match or pick all the same. Perhaps you are a chocoholic; you can fill your box with chocolate toffee bars, mint chocolate squares, dark chocolate truffles, caramel bars and/or turtle brownies. For the non-chocolate lover; you might select lemon bars, frosted sugar cookies, butterscotch blondies, banana pie bars and/or ginger lime cookies. Either way, we will have goodies galore!
Cookie Walk proceeds will be divided among equally among all four groups for their various programs, primarily spay and neuter and veterinary care.

Animal Resource Foundation and SAINT Animal Rescue are partnering again for our 2nd Annual Pumpkin Festival Bake & Craft Sale. We will have over a dozen fabulous bakers and artists producing wonderful products for this event. Whether you need a cupcake spider, ghost cookie or are looking for hand-crafted Halloween decorations, this is a CAN’T MISS event!
Funds generated by this event will be used for veterinary expenses.
Our fundraiser will be held during the Earl May Pumpkin Festival. This is a fun-filled day with free activities for the entire family. They will have games, contests, a costume parade, face painting and lots of other activities.
Noelridge Park Church Youth Group will also be at the event serving a hot lunch to raise money for their organization.

This event is still evolving and is planned for Spring 2012. Currently, we are waiting to hear back about a possible location. We had hoped to hold it at the IHA clinic building but renovations may prohibit this from being successfully held at the clinic. We will publish more information once the location has been determined.
We are still collecting art and craft supplies ensuring we have a lot of merchandise to offer shoppers at the event. This sale will offer crafters and artists a way to stock up on some supplies at discounted prices.
We are still accepting donations of quality craft and art supplies. Open items are OK. We are looking for any kind of crafting supply, including but not limited to, beading, knitting, sewing, stained glass, pottery, drawing, painting, woodworking, metalworking, quilting, scrapbooking, cross stitch, and rubber stamping. If you have supplies that akren’t listed, get in touch with us as we may be able to take those as well.

Animal Resource Foundation is holding a garage sale to raise money for our programs. We will also donate at least 50% of the proceeds to Iowa Humane Alliance’s “$50k in 50 Days” campaign to open the first regional, high-quality, high-volume and low-cost spay and neuter clinic in our state.

Animal Resource Foundation will be participating in Iowa Humane Alliance’s Pet Pride in the Park to raise money for our programs and gain awareness for our organization. We will have lots of new and exciting pet-themed and pet-related products. We will also be showing our new shirt patterns that have been a big hit at recent shows. Stop out and see us and be sure to bring the family for the kids and dog carnivals. There are lots of fun activities scheduled. This is an event you don’t want to miss!
PET PRIDE IN THE PARK DETAILS
Admission is FREE to the event and K9 and Kids Carnival tickets are 50 cents each.
Local pet owners are invited to an activity-packed afternoon of pet-powered fun at the annual “Pet Pride in the Park” on May 7th at Coralville’s S.T. Morrison Park.
This is a pet friendly event. Enjoy a day out with your pet!
Designed to appeal to the entire family, whether they own a pet or not, this year’s “Pet Pride” event features more than a dozen animal adoption groups with a menagerie of adoptable pets for prospective families to meet. The Kids and K-9 Carnival will include games and prizes for both dogs and their human friends, from face painting and a moon walk, to “Dunking for Hot-Dogs” and the ever-popular “Litter-Box-Scooping Challenge” (litter box contents simulated. We promise.) The Fido and Friends Market will offer attendees a wide range of pet-related products. Attendees will also have an opportunity to learn about some wonderful pet- related businesses and organizations serving their communities.
The entertainment agenda features fun-filled pet contests throughout the day, including best dressed and fastest pet, as well as events like best kisser and biggest or smallest critter. Plus, people who think they bear an uncanny resemblance to their cat or dog can enter the pet/person lookalike contest.
For owners wanting to micro-chip their pet, Animal Welfare Foundation will hold a microchip clinic and chip pets for just $20!
Food vending will be provided by PAWS and More Shelter of Washington. All proceeds from this event benefit low cost spay/neuter programs and adoption programs for homeless pets.
Pet Pride in the Park sponsored by Iowa Humane Alliance and Coralville Parks and Recreation. All proceeds from this event will benefit our low cost spay/neuter programs.
Friendly pets are welcomed at this event. Please make sure all pets are up to date on their vaccinations. Dogs should be on a non-retractable leash. Other pets should be in carriers.

The Iowa Humane Alliance welcomes the North Shore Animal League America’s “Tour for Life 2011″ team to Iowa. The Tour for Life is a groundbreaking national tour promoting local animal rescue and shelter adoptions.
Animal Resource Foundation will be one of the over 20 local animal welfare organizations participating in this event! We will have our “famous” spay and neuter t-shirts with several new patterns to view.
The NSAL “Tour for Life 2011″ team will bring their 40-foot adoption bus to Cedar Rapids allowing local animal rescue groups to fill it with kittens, puppies, cats and dogs – all hoping to find new homes. This is a great chance to meet and add a new member to your family.
Local animal welfare organizations will have booths with information for those interested in volunteering, fostering or adopting an animal. Micro-chipping services will also be available for owned pets.

All proceeds benefit our primary programs including, low-cost spay and neuter, veterinary care for rescue animals and private shelter and rescue assistance. Please stop out and support our programs.
“We Love Kitties and Pitties”
SPAY DAY 2011 Promotion

Animal Resource Foundation has partnered with Iowa Humane Alliance for the HSUS’s annual spay day event. Our goal is to spay and neuter 350 animals for families unable to afford the procedure.
“We Love Kitties and Pitties” is a financial-needs based promotion that will allow pet owners to alter their cats for $10 and pits/pit mixes for $25 with free rabies vaccinations. You must qualify to be eligible for the promotion prices and be in the Cedar Rapids, IA service area. If you would like an application, please send an email to info@arfiowa.org.
We will be selling candy sundaes and t-shirts to cover our portion of the surgery expenses which we expect to be $15,000-$20,000. If you would like to support our promotion you can help in a variety of ways. Animal Resource Foundation and SAINTS Animal Rescue are partnering for this fundraiser in an effort to generate funds for veterinary care including spay and neuter. SAINTS uses funds to care for the animals they have in rescue while ARF uses funds to help rescue groups with vet bills and individuals with spay and neuter expenses. - Bake Sale. We are fortunate enough to have several VERY good bakers in our group that will be providing baked goods. There will be a huge assortment of goodies.
- T-Shirts. Both SAINTS Animal Rescue and Animal Resource Foundation will have t-shirts for sale. ARF will be reducing the price of their spay and neuter shirts from $18 to $15 for this event. The price is limited to shirts currently in stock.
- Dog & Cat Treats. We will have an assortment treats including natural, preservative-free treats, grain-free treats as well as prepackaged gift treat bags.
- Spay and Neuter Assistance Applications. Animal Resource Foundation will be accepting applications for spay and neuter assistance during the event. If you know of anyone needing assistance, please have them stop by for an application.

We will be at the annual Earl May Pumpkin Festival with SAINTs Animal Rescue raising money for spay and neuter programs. In addition to the FREE family games and special activities offered by Earl May, we will have the following event highlights:
Professional Portraits. Shari Neal Photography will be there from Noon to 3:00 pm. You can bring your entire family and/or pets and have professional photos taken. We will have a choice of a traditional fall backdrop or something more fun and festive. The siting fee is $5.00 at the event and you will be able to download or order photos within 48 hours. Shari has generously donated all proceeds from the photos to spay and neuter programs for SAINTs Rescue and Animal Resource Foundation.- Craft Sale. Volunteers will be making a variety of crafts for the event. Stop by and check out the work of our talented artists and crafters. We will have an assortment of fleece blankets, greeting cards, felted wool items, pet-related crafts as well as a selection of seasonal craft items.

Animal Resource Foundation and SAINT Rescue have partnered to raise money to combat the pet overpopulation by having HUGE bake sale event. There will be an outstanding assortment of baked goods, pet & gift items and lots more!
Proceeds will be used to fund spay and neuter programs and assist with the medical costs of Tuffy, Scruffy and Sassy. These three little kittens were rescued and have serious eye issues. We hope they are able to avoid surgery but it is possible that they may each need to have an eye removed.

Volunteers will be making and selling items to raise money for our SNIP (Spay/Neuter Incentive Plan). There will be a variety of items for sale including Easter baked goods and gifts, homemade dog treats and fleece pet items. T-shirts with animal themes including spay, neuter and adoption will also be available for sale.
We will be taking applications for our SNIP program the day of the event. This program offers low-cost spay and neuter for those unable to afford the procedure.
(Applicants must meet eligibility requirements to qualify for spay and neuter assistance.)

We made over $350 at this event by selling baked goods, t-shirts, dog treats and pet-themed items. Thanks to everyone that helped make this event successful. We will be featuring Wendee’s creations at our downtown market event on June 5th. We also want to thank the Prairie Soccer Club for donating soccer balls autographed by the Kansas City Wizards. Animal Resource Foundation is partnering with Theisen’s in Cedar Rapids to collect pet food and pet supplies to benefit local rescue groups. Supplies may be purchased at Theisen’s and dropped in the collection box inside the store. Items will be collected until our fundraising event on April 3rd.

Food and supplies were distributed to the following organizations; Last Hope Animal Rescue, SAINTs, Witty Kitties, Vinton Animal Shelter, Safe Haven, Animal Welfare Foundation and Iowa Humane Alliance.
